International Interdisciplinary CODATA Conference on Environmental Information and Communication Achieving Sustainability Goals through Knowledge Sharing Workshops Adjoint
to the CEGeoIC conference, workshops
are organized by
PROCALCULO PROSIS ESRI Main Distributor Colombia Participation is free but Registration is mandatory ![]() ArcGIS as a System: Integrating all components February 6th Session I GIS and Environment Content: Geographical
contents preparation and publication
Time: 8.30 - 11.30 Room: Saturno 2-3
Experts
responsible for the creation,
consolidation and administration of GIS will benefit from this
conference. Also
all those who in any way use geographical data and want to share them,
inside
or outside their organization. Organizations
in the present telecommunications dynamics, face sharing the
information
generated within their processes including geographical information;
this
information should be adapted to the different enquiring profiles (this
profiles are not necessarily GIS experts) and should have the
possibility to
visualize it from different platforms (desktop, web browsers,
smartphones). Inside
GIS for environmental
administration, is very important to capture information on the field
because
these are the sources that allow it to carry on with other information
(from
indirect sources) spatial analysis, over which you can make decisions,
contingency plans or impact mitigation (negative). In this seminar you
will
learn field information capture concept, and how in only one map
(interoperable)
you can visualize different information levels, how you can share the
results
of this analysis to various types of public so they can make the
correct
decisions depending on the role they play in the organization. This
seminar is designed for experts in
charge of creating, consolidating and administrating geographical
information.
Also for the general audience who wants to learn and share geographic
information within an organization or outside. February 7th Session II GIS and Environment:
Content: Spatial
analysis for environment administration Time:
8.30 to 11.30 Room: Saturno 2-3 Geographic
Information Systems give
investigators from government, private sector, communities, and ONGs
the
possibility of generating a natural resources inventory with scientific
support
to evaluate the threats to these resources and apply the results
obtained in
the planning process and decision
making. These inventories accompanied with any other geographical
information
related to environmental, help manage complex analysis beyond the
environmental
inventory, for example soil aptitude identification for a specific type
of
development and an evaluation of risk based on future scenarios like
pollution
levels. This
seminar is designed for the general
public, who wants to learn, share geographic information and discover
how to analyze
environmental and natural resources information. February 8th Session III GIS and Environment
Content: ArcGIS Online Overview. Time: 8.30 to 10.30 ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based
platform that
allows you to easily and quickly make a map, collaborate, and share
your map
with others. ArcGIS Online is available for personal use through a free
account
or organization-wide with a subscription. As an ArcGIS Online user, you
retain
all rights to your data and control who has access to it. This guide is
a quick
tutorial designed to get you started using ArcGIS Online and provides
short
instructions for common tasks. More information is available in
ArcGIS
Online help at esri.com/agolhelp. 1. Getting started: Sign up for a free
account 2. Explore ArcGIS Online 3. Create and share a map 5. Add data from ArcGIS Online to your map 6 Add your data from a text file 5. Symbolize and configure your data 6. Save your map to My Content 7. Share your map: Embed in a website or
create a free application 8. Collaborate using your map 9. Organize your data with groups Visit: http://www.prosis.com/eventos/sig-medio-ambiente/sitio/ Workshop Details in Spanish Language:
Febrero 6 Sesión I SIG y Medio Ambiente: Preparación y publicación
comunidades y a
ambiente, a
